FIGWASPE is the work of Hanna Hurr, a chef and artist based in Brooklyn, NY, bringing to life conceptual food and garden experiences, installations and visual projects. Her work seeks to evoke the earthly beauty of cuisine and honor the natural world and its forms, and as such, is lovingly named after the fig wasp, whose life cycle and sacrifice have perpetuated the thriving of the fig tree since ancient times.
FIGWASPE’s installations and experiences draw from advanced culinary technique, artistic sensibility and horticultural and design technology to capture ephemeral beauty, center flavor as artistic medium and celebrate earthly design through multi-sensory experience.
